I have used Eunju Kang , Kuro Sumi , Moms, Skin Candy, Intenze and Starbrite. I have shucked out alot of coin looking for an ink that wont work my butt off during a 14 hr day. Another artist introduced me to Starbrite and I found that It goes in smooth and quick. Coverage is better than the others and it holds much more solid.
I have near full bottles of Intenze and the origianl Skin Candy .. full racks... and they are all in a box in the closet , we use em to splatter white tshirts that have the shop name on em. Hehe. Hey, they sell!

I dont think you would go wrong with Starbrite, I gotta give Intenze its' due tho.... their new "Zuper Black" is amazing. I have 12 different bottles of black counting the silverbacks.... and the "Zuper" flat rocks! I will post concerning SkinCandys new "Roan Black Cherry Shading Ink" it is supposed to arrive next week. It is supposed to be a new formulation, predispersed vs the old pigment based... we'll see............

I got one. For my personal tastes, the lightest of the set is almost useless unless the client has super light skin. I like the silverbacks because I can refresh the ink supply during a tattoo if necessary without counting drops etc in order to get the shade exactly the same.
If you are doing alot of black and gray or portraits... get em, what the heck, its not like they will break the bank if ya dont like em... but on the other hand ... if ya DO like..for the same reasons I do... then they are worth their weight in gold right?

    Author: Sasha
Subject: I haven't been on for a while
Posted: 05 Apr 2008 at 7:05pm

Okay the tattoologist who knows it all came in the other day with her whopping 5 crappy tattoos done by someone else (of course). Anyways, her friend wanted to come to my shop because she had seen work that was done here and really liked it. It was her first tattoo, and the tattoologist asked if we could spray the cooling stuff on it because her friend was in pain. She said that her guy keeps it in a spray bottle and sprays the tattoo to cool it off. At this point I inform her that we don't use spray bottles because of the airborn threat. And she says, and I quote, "Well mine never went airborn." Now I assume that she meant her tattoo never went airborn. I don't know! This girl was really amusing every time that she opened her mouth. Her friend was filling out the release form and she said, and once again I am quoting, " You don't have to read that, it just says that if anything happens they aren't reliable." Not reliable? Maybe she meant liable and just couldn't quite get the word out correctly. And she kept telling her friend that her guy could get her a deal, because she only paid $20 for a sh*tty name written on her neck. Well she didn't say a sh*tty name, I did, so no qote there! And then she wanted to know where the bathroom was, and I told her, so she went in and proceeded to use an entire can of hairspray in there. What the hell? Now I can't breathe and need to open the back door to air the place out. And that about sums up my day at work. Thankfully it is done and over with. And an end note the actual customer was quite pleasant, she even apologized for bringing in the expert!
